Sponsorships<\/strong>
Sponsor retention: retaining prior sponsor. Past sponsors are contacted with a personal appeal. They are provided with sponsorship levels and benefits for each level. The message: emphasize the "more than robots" them and how their continued support changes students' lives. Tell stories. Legacy sponsors - those who have been their from the beginning are the highest priority.
Immediate action items: Need to discuss sending past Sponsors a photo/plaque for their business with a photo collage or a team photo from the prior season. Also Personally deliver coffee mug with a thank you note. Team shirt provided later.

Grants - coach, mentors and school district reps help identify and prepare/submit grant requests. Marketing helps with content when requested.
Billing/Collect funds: Each sponsor that confirms is sent a personalized invoice.
Logos: We collect Sponsor logos from $500 or more level sponsors to use on our Team Shirts, website and promo materials.
Parent contributions: We help craft the email from coach and follow up emails from mentors about the $200 per student donation requested from parents and Coach sends.
Budget: Marketing tracks the budget for fundraising from all sources, showing need versus funds collected.
Team Shirts: Marketing helps coordinate the selection of the team shirt each year and is responsible for producing team shirts with Sponsor logos on the back of the shirts.
Sponsor Banner(s): Marketing is responsible for collecting all logos and creating a large sponsorship banner for use in the Pit, at our events and displayed in the new robotics room.
Communications + PR + Social Media<\/strong>
Spokesperson: Marketing is responsible for training and providing spokespersons for all events and competitions. Training for talking to judges and Chairman's Award competition presentations by spokespersons is done in the off season.
Website: Marketing creates, designs, implements and maintains the team website - www.spartronics4915.com. That includes weekly updates or more often. Website includes a calendar of all meetings and events. Targets are team members, students, other FIRST teams, parents/relatives, alumni, sponsors, supports and the Bainbridge Island community in general.
App: Marketing creates and maintains a mobile app, Spartronics, available in the Apple store and Google Play. This update is linked to the updates we provide through our website to streamline content creation. This gives students offline access to crucial information.
Team photos: Marketing takes all team photos - students, mentors and coaches - for use with badges and communications.
Badges: Marketing designs and orders team badges and clips/lanyards.
Alumni Outreach: Marketing maintains contact lists of all alumni, including school and/or occupation and location. Also requests team banner for our new Robotics room
Dinner speakers: Marketing works with the Leadership Team to identify and recommend short Ted-talk type speakers for team dinners. Marketing also provides surprise treats for the team.
Weekly newsletters - Using the state-of-the art email program, MailChimp, Spartronics issues a Weekly email update. The target audiences are parents, sponsors, and supporters. Requirements: Photos, graphic design, writing and editing, email list development and maintenance and email marketing skills and technical knowledge.
Blogs: Marketing writes and posts Blog items at least once a week on our website.
Instagram (1,000+ followers): Marketing provides ongoing Instagram photo updates during meetings and all events, including updates on scores and standings during competitions.
Twitter (1,000+ followers): Marketing provides ongoing Twitter tweets during meetings and all events, including updates on scores and standings during competitions.
Facebook (465 likes): Targets are parents/relatives, sponsors, supporters and our BI community, this channel is updated as frequently as possible.
Snapchat: New for 2016-17 season, Marketing uses this channel to target team members, other robotics teams and other students.
Slack: Marketing researches and helps to administer our internal communications tools, including Slack.
Publicity and press relations: Marketing works with all school communications channels - video announcements, leaderboard sign, audio announcements, flyers, etc. - to promote the team. We also work with our media sponsor, the school district communications office, and other local media by writing and submitting stories: press releases, calendar announcements, etc.
Community Outreach<\/strong>
Open House: Marketing helps coordinate and manages the all robotics annual Open House (organized before build season, held during build season).
K-8 School visits: Marketing helps organize, presents and records robot demos at local schools to promote STEAM.
Bainbridge Island Art Museum: Spartronics team members provide volunteer hours to support STEAM programs at our local arts museum through the Art in Action program.
KidiMu Children's Museum: Marketing helps organize, presents and records robot demos at the local children's museum to promote STEAM.
Business Community Demonstrations: Marketing helps organize, presents and records robot demos or speaks to the business community at Kiwanis, Rotary and the Chamber to promote STEAM.
Community Presentations: Marketing helps coordinate speaking events at local events, such as those put on by the Bainbridge Schools Foundation, high school assemblies, and more.
Branding:<\/strong>
Spartronics flag: Marketing designs and orders the Spartronics Flags, large and small, used for competition, parade and display.
Mascot costume: Marketing provides the design and outfit for our team mascot.
Dancing + Cheering : Marketing members take the lead in promoting and encouraging cheering and dancing at competitions.
Videos: Marketing records and produces a variety of videos for events, sponsorships, community outreach, activities and phun videos, such as an annual dance challenge video and comic-oriented stress relief videos for the team.
Awards case: Marketing designs and maintains the Awards case outside of the Robotics room.
Robotics Room Branding: Marketing is responsible for providing creative elements - logos, banners, signage, photos - to help brand the Robotics Room to show our Spartronics pride to our team and others visiting.
Robot naming: Marketing takes the lead to manage the robot naming process each year and creates a special robot logo.
Robot "branding": Branding works with the mechanical team to look for ways to brand our robot's look, including visual design and sponsor logos.
Event needs: Marketing takes the lead to create custom items for competitions, such as the Standard for the 2016 FRC Game.
Pit: Marketing works with the Mechanical subteam to design and builds the 10x10 Pit for each year's competition.
Awards and Banners: Marketing is responsible for identifying, writing and submitting entires for all Awards at competitions, as well of the display of awards and banners at BHS.
Logos: Marketing maintains and polices our logos and our branding standards for the use of our logo, as well as fonts and color specification for digital and printed material.
Giveaways (Buttons, Stickers, T-shirts, etc): Marketing is responsible for designing and ordering all promotional material.

Drone footage: Marketing also shoots its own drone footage for use in videos and our new website.
Graphic design: Marketing has created ad hoc materials such as thank you cards, posters to promote Spartronics Day, website ads for the Bainbridge Review and more.
Photography: Marketing provides photos to BSF, BISD, our sponsors, other robotics teams, WA FIRST and others as requested.
Videography, video graphics and video editing: Marketing produces all Spartronics video, including video graphics and video editing.
Speakers: Marketing provides our speakers with PowerPoint presentations, messaging and editing assistance when someone is asked to speak at an external organization, such as a competition or other event.
