Current Flight Tools still depend on Ansible Tower for deployment, which will be decommissioned on 31st March 2020. Deployment on new Flight Tools will use AWS ASG.
As there are many tools that owned by flight team, were migrated from TAP to Flight Tools and already used, the traffic to Flight Tools is also increased. Every time, we release Flight Tools in production, CPU utilization on another instance (It only has 2 instances) can reach around 90% - 97%. This condition is dangerous as there might be disruption, such as hang. We need strong justifications when requesting scale and takes time.
AWS ASG able to solve this issue as the deployment process is different from the current and also enables us to do scaling anytime.
Starting Tuesday, 25th February 2020, please start using new Flight Tools:
During transition, current Flight Tools:
will still be accessible and will be decommissioned on 3rd March 2020.
You can access new Flight Tools same as before because of the difference between the current Flight Tools and the new one is infrastructure.
If there is an issue in new Flight Tools, please report to @Vincent.
