Upcoming Akamai WAF DSA Migration

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great start of the year. Now that the peak season and the freeze period has ended we are ready to re-engage in our effort to upgrade our Akamai Web Services.
For this, we need all responsible parties / stakeholders cooperation to have a successful migration. So please read ahead.

In case you have not been aware of this upcoming change or not been on the previous email chains, Traveloka Security is upgrading the current Akamai WAF offering to DSA (Dynamic Secure Accelerator) service, which in essence it will deliver faster dynamic content on top of security with added reliability. Among the new feature improvements provided are:

- SureRoute - This will accelerate dynamic content/request portion of our website plus it will give quick convergence in case of "Under sea- Optical fiber cut" or other BGP routing issue in Tier1 and Tier 2 ISPs and therefore be more tolerant to internet issues beyond our control.
- PreFetch - This feature will preload the page content/object at Akamai server (nearest to user) in advance from origin as user request them and hence will load faster for the next users requesting the same object.

To help answer further questions regarding DSA service and to give an overview of migration plan and timelines, we created the following couple of pages:

Action Items for Phase1

Timeline: To be completed by 20-Jan.

Note: None of the action items in this Phase1 should have a direct impact on production. At this phase, the traffic to the production site has not yet been moved to the DSA service.

Please feel free to reach us if you have any questions and/or concerns. We will be glad to answer and help in what we can. Email: secops@traveloka.com Slack: #akamai-channel, or on this channel itself.

We will be following via email shortly as well.
