Earlier this year we proposed a plan to dismantle tv-app, starting with User API as its pilot. We have successfully extracting our APIs into a separate, decoupled service, and now we're calling other teams to follow our journey.

We aim to decouple all public APIs in Q2, and total dismantle of TV-APP in Q3. However, it would not be possible without your support. We need your help to:

Confirm the ownership of API endpoints in TV related to your domain.

Allocate some weeks on your Q2 plan to accomodate TV decoupling. To help your estimation, the decoupling covers these activities:

Creating a new top-level component containing domain-specific APIs (1w or less since you should be already familiar with your own APIs)
Creating operational playbooks (2d or less since you can copy-paste-edit from existing playbooks)
Creating grafana metrics dashboard and seyren alerts (1d or less since there are already ready-to-use templates and scripts)
Creating new infra (EC2 and ELB) for the decoupled APIs (1w-3w, YMMV)
Testing the decoupled service (1-2d)

User API decoupling took about 6w, including waiting time for infra provisioning and experimenting with things. A more detailed guide will be available soon.
