CDC B3: Avalanche (June 10 - July 19)

Hello everyone,

I'm excited to share the initiatives that CDC Branch 3 members will work on for the next six weeks. We've prioritized the initiatives based on the Design OKR 2019 and Branch 3 Problem Areas. There are two types of initiatives: big batch (that could take the whole six weeks to complete) and a small batch (where we aim for a quick-win).

All the initiatives will be managed in this Basecamp project (link: https://3.basecamp.com/3934780/projects/12481020) [invites to the project will be sent soon to related stakeholders]

The first six-week, so-called cycle, runs from June 10 to July 19.

BIG BATCH

Career Path [CP1] @arganka @yunita
Pain: The current Design career path doesn’t support growth track for specialists.
Expected outcome: Designers have more options to grow within Traveloka. More appealing to internal and external designers. Act as a foundation for future needs of department and company.

Coaching Scheme (Internal) [CS1] @azis
Pain: Too much load for the more senior designers to grow junior members.
Expected outcome: The coaching scheme can ease up a load of more senior designers. The design team is able to set and apply certain technical standards to be achieved by designers who are being coached.

Hiring [HR, HR1, HR2] @dhea @arganka
Pain: Some critical positions are vacant. The talent pool is perceived as dry.
Expected outcome: Visibility on how efficient and effective we hire candidates. Some tactical moves to adapt to current demand and priority.

Mentoring Scheme [MS1, MS2] @aya
Pain: Lack of senior leaders to mentor and coach design leads and more senior designers.
Expected outcome: Design leads and more senior designers are equipped and inspired to contribute and make progress on their own objectives.

SMALL BATCH

Performance Evaluation [PE1] @dhea
Pain: Performance evaluation takes so much of design leads' time with non-standard practice and less-clear benefit to design leads and designer.
Expected outcome: Branch 3 found and addressed top problems regarding performance evaluation to prepare for the next PMS cycle (September).

Learning and Development [LD1] @arganka
Pain: We need to speed up the growth of junior designers to be a professional and solid designer.
Expected outcome: Designers have and can access the options for professional learning. Secured Design learning budget for 2019 and 2020.
