Use Authy as your MFA app

TL;DR

Move all of your MFA/2FA/TFA virtual tokens to Authy

Rationale

Site-Infra has observed that loss of virtual multi-factor authentication tokens is extremely common amongs our engineering community. We've recorded 12 MFA reset requests in the last 30 days alone.

This causes a concern for our team, because resetting MFA while simple, is too common and takes away our attention from issues that only we can solve.

To address this we strongly recommend that everyone stops using Google Authenticator, or any other MFA app that doesn't support multiple devices and encrypted backup to the cloud, and migrate their tokens to Authy.

If you lose your device, recover your tokens from backup, remove your old device from your Authy account, and change all tokens.

Please be proactive and don't wait until you lose your MFA again.
