Announcement for release/2016-11-01

Backend-infra team has a plan to upgrade our mongo driver from 2.13.0 to 3.3.0, to support access to mongodb server version 3.2 and above from our application. We do so because mongodb server version 2.6 already reached end of life (see https://www.mongodb.com/support-policy ).

The upgrade itself will be included for next release (2016-11-01), and the impact of this release is also large enough, that should it break, it will also break many of our services .
