TLDR; for IPO preparation we should also use pagespeed web to monitor & improve performance in Traveloka upper funnel pages.
Previously we measured web performance score using dedicated instance in AWS Singapore and using local browser measurement. While those methods can quickly detect improvements and regressions, the score itself does not reflect the experience of users coming from non-Asia geo-region.
In the upcoming IPO event, we expect that prospect investors from across the globe will check Traveloka website. Before that happens we need to make sure that our website is optimized for users across the globe. To do that we want to measure and improve the performance using https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ which is located in the US. If we can improve our web performance from that region, we will have even faster performance for users in Asia region, it is a win-win
Note that improving mobile web performance will be more difficult since the mobile cpu power in lighthouse is weaker compared to desktop
