Decommission of tvlk-prod and tvlk-dev accounts

It has been 28 month since we’ve launched the multi-account platform in Oct. 2018 and 18 months since we’ve deprecated shared legacy tvlk-prod account in Aug. 2019. Majority of the products have either began or completed their migration. It’s time for the next milestone, so we’re scheduling the decommission of tvlk-prod and tvlk-dev accounts for December 31, 2021.

Why?

Our multi-account platform offers better reliability, security and cost attribution, yet allows each product team more control, freedom and flexibility within their environments. This plan is aligned with our new Technology OKRs and will be crucial in establishing better cloud infrastructure governance and compliance in preparation for Traveloka’s initial public offering (IPO).

What to expect?

During the initial phase we will:

Establish a dedicated communication channel to enable focused discussion, report progress and share important alerts and notifications.
Create and share various migration related inventories with affected product teams.
Review and tighten AWS Service and IAM controls in these accounts.
Terminate orphaned and owner-less resources.
